A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon

A recent high school graduate named Jimmy Reardon stands at the edge of adulthood, torn between a safe predictable future and the lure of a dream. His father wants him enrolled in a business program, but Jimmy decides to strike out and head to Hawaii, hoping a break from routine will help him figure things out. He travels with little money and no clear plan, and the trip quickly tests his resolve as plans fray and improvisation becomes the rule. Along the way he meets friends, pursues romantic interests, and faces the realities of adult life in ways a classroom never could. The experiences force him to reexamine his parents and the expectations that shaped him, deepening his relationship with his father through new understanding and honesty.
