Astro Boy

Atom Tetsuwan, better known as Astro Boy, is a robot created by Dr Tenma to stand in for his late son. After a lab explosion and a cruel twist of fate, Tenma shuts him down, leaving him to rust away. The Ministry of Science later revives the boy and offers a second chance, attempting to fit him into a normal life as a sixth grader. He attends school, makes friends, and, when danger appears, steps in as a capable guardian who helps keep renegade machines from harming people. Atom struggles to balance loyalty to his maker with his own sense of autonomy and belonging. He learns from Ochanomizu Hakase how to use power responsibly. The city responds with curiosity.
