Battle Angel

In a grim, high tech future, a roaming bounty hunter and cyborg medic named Ido discovers a battered female cyborg and gives her the name Gally. She wakes with a body built for combat and a mind that still aches with missing memories. Gally moves through a ruthless city where life is cheap and violence is part of the daily routine, learning to trust the man who saved her even as she begins to uncover her own uncanny skills. She trains, fights, and survives, inching toward a self defined by action as much as by memory. The bond between Ido and this formidable survivor becomes the lens through which the world's harsh realism is filtered.

Directed by Hiroshi Fukutomi, the film adapts Akinori Endo's concept into a compact 1993 animated science fiction feature. It delivers tight pacing and sharp action for a mid 90s audience.
