The academies of Kivotos operate like separate districts, each with its own rules and rivalries. When the General Student Council president disappears, the fragile balance that kept those schools stable starts to unravel, and incidents begin popping up across the city. With the council’s usual authority stalled, they turn to Schale, the Federal Investigation Club, the newest club approved just before the disappearance. Schale is a compact group of students who take on investigative assignments to patch over crises, guided by a Sensei who advises from the sidelines. The show follows their casework, the friction among schools, and the focused operations they carry out to prevent Kivotos from slipping into chaos.

Released in 2024, Blue Archive the Animation was created by Daigo Yamagishi and Hiroshi Onogi. The series features voice work from Yui Ogura, Yumiri Hanamori, Ayaka Ohashi, Chiyuki Miura, and Sayaka Harada, and aired briefly on television.
