Jing Tian is a young man who wants to become a paladin of the Mt. Shu Sect. When the Sect decides to seal the dangerous Shu Yao Pagoda, he joins Tang Xuejian, the reserved scholar Xu Changqing and a small group of allies to locate five mystical pearls required for the ritual. Their search sends them across lawless borderlands, haunted sites and rival strongholds, while friendships form and old grudges resurface. Alongside monster fights and swordplay, personal histories and secret identities complicate every step. The series keeps the focus on teamwork, romance and moral choices as the team pieces together the pagoda's past and the true cost of protective magic. Smaller subplots involve family legacies, rival sect politics and betrayal.
