About Criminal
Richard Gaddis is a skilled con man on the lookout for a partner who can handle layered schemes with a poker-face calm. He turns to Rodrigo, a criminal with a perfect mask for disguising his true motives. The plan is a bold scam: pass off a forged Silver Certificate to a currency collector, William Hannigan, who believes he's buying a rare prize. Rodrigo's motive is money to help his ailing father, and his doubts about Gaddis fade under the lure of the score and the risk. But things get messier when Rodrigo falls for Gaddis' sister Valerie, pulling another element of danger and desire into the game.
Directed by Gregory Jacobs with involvement from Steven Soderbergh and Fabián Bielinsky, Criminal arrived in 2004 as a remake drawing from the Argentine caper Nine Queens.
