Equilibrium

Set in a tightly controlled future, Equilibrium imagines a regime that enforces peace by chemically suppressing all emotions. John Preston, a top enforcer who hunts down dissidents, begins to question the regime after witnessing a forbidden act of humanity and encountering a resistance movement. As he digs deeper, his loyalties are pulled between duty and a growing sense that a freer life might be worth the risk. His choices ignite a dangerous clash between order and the impulse to feel. The regime promises safety but its true cost will become clear to him.
