F is for Family

Set in the 1970s, F is for Family follows the Murphy family as they wrestle with the daily grind of work, school, and the shifting social norms of the era. Frank Murphy, a blue collar father with a loud temper and a stubborn streak, tries to keep his family safe and fed while facing the expectations of a changing world that seems to challenge every rule he believes in. His wife Sue does her best to balance motherhood, a part time job, and the strain of keeping the household together. Their three kids, Kevin, Bill, and Maureen, respond to family pressures with humor, mischief, and moments of earnest teenage rebellion. The show trades big dramatic twists for cringe worthy humor, sharp social commentary, and a frank look at working class life.

Created by Bill Burr, Michael Price and Sam Stefanak, the series landed on Netflix in 2015. It uses a rotating team of directors across episodes and features Burr in the lead voice as Frank, with Laura Dern, Justin Long, Haley Reinhart and Debi Derryberry among the Murphy family.
