Tao Yao looks like an ordinary girl, but she works as a spirit healer who treats animals, monsters and restless spirits rather than people. Moving between haunted forests, ruined towns and hidden realms, she seeks out beings stuck between worlds and helps them recover or move on. She's accompanied by Mo Ya, a tiny monk with surprising skills, and Liu Gon Zi, a snake demon inhabiting a man's body. The trio operate with a mix of ritual, wit and occasional force, taking on stand-alone rescues that reveal more about the supernatural world and Tao Yao's past. She blends ritual, herbal remedies and improvisation to heal or free trapped spirits.
