About Fall
Becky and Hunter are close friends who chase extremes for the thrill and the footage, so when they climb to the top of an abandoned 2,000 foot radio tower they expect another rush. Instead, a simple miscalculation leaves them trapped at the summit with no safe descent. With howling winds, limited food and water, and nothing but open sky beneath them, the two have to use their climbing know-how and wits to keep from falling prey to hypothermia, panic and vertigo. The story stays tightly focused on their immediate survival, the strain that high altitude and isolation place on a relationship, and the raw, minute-by-minute decisions that matter most, no plot twists revealed here, and a constant awareness of risk.
Directed by Scott Mann and created by Jonathan Frank, Fall premiered in 2022. The cast is led by Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Mason Gooding and Jasper Cole rounding out the principal roles and crew.
The movie had a limited theatrical run before moving to video-on-demand and streaming platforms. That release pattern helped it reach a wider audience, with home viewers and rental traffic keeping interest alive after theaters and gained traction on rentals internationally.
Its towering setpieces and prolonged sequences at dangerous heights generated a lot of online conversation, from reaction clips to breakdowns of stunt techniques. Viewers compared it to other survival thrillers and debated how practical effects and safety were handled on set, stunt fans posted analyses of rigging, and talk shows.
Audience response has been generally favorable, the film averaging about 7.114/10 from 4,357 votes. Critics praised the sustained tension and the leads' chemistry, noting themes of fear, trust, human endurance and the moral choices people make under pressure, some questioned the plausibility, while others highlighted the emotional stakes in reviews.
What Viewers Are Saying
Viewers appreciate Fall for its intense, anxiety-inducing portrayal of acrophobia and the convincing performances of Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner. The film’s dizzying visuals and suspenseful moments effectively create tension, especially for those with a fear of heights. However, some audiences find the story thin or lacking depth, with critiques aimed at unrealistic climbing techniques and occasional pacing issues. While many enjoy the thrilling experience, others feel the plot attempts too much, resulting in diminished focus and character development.
