FX: The Series

Rollie Tyler is a special effects expert who lends his craft to police work, building illusions and staged scenarios that trick suspects into revealing the truth. Instead of usual forensics, Rollie uses makeup, prosthetics, lighting and psychological misdirection to manufacture moments that make criminals react, while his detective friends observe the fallout. The show centers on the tension between spectacle and evidence, as investigators weigh what they see against what’s manipulated. Supporting characters include Angie Ramirez, Captain Marvin Van Duran, and detectives Francis Gatti and Mira Sanchez, all of whom negotiate practical questions about legality, ethics and trust without giving away any major plot turns.
