Murphy Mason is a sarcastic, messy, and stubborn woman who also happens to be blind. After her friend Tyson is killed, she becomes the only person who can point to what happened, but police don't take her seriously. Refusing to stay sidelined, Murphy drags her dog Pretzel into amateur sleuthing, following leads, questioning dangerous people, and breaking rules to get answers. Alongside the investigation she juggles a rocky dating life, a job she dislikes at a guide-dog school run by overprotective parents, and relationships with a tight circle of friends who both help and complicate her plans.
