Zhang Xiaofan loses his family overnight and is taken into the Qingyun Sect, where he trains for five years and begins to stand out among his peers. After strong results at the Seven Peak Martial Arts Competition, he is sent toward Kongsang Mountain with orders to confront a growing evil. Along the way an accident strands him with his senior Lu Xueqi, and they end up rescuing Bi Yao, who has ties to a mysterious cult. As alliances form and old loyalties are tested, Zhang faces new threats that challenge his skills, his beliefs, and the relationships he's building, without revealing how any of those conflicts resolve.
