About Jimihen!! Jimiko o Kae Chau Jun Isei Kouyuu
Rena Yukuhasahi is the quiet type at her office, the kind of coworker who keeps to herself and blends into the background. When she changes into full glam, though, she becomes an unexpectedly glamorous woman who draws a lot of attention. Ryouhei Hachiya, a colleague who’s long admired her from afar, reacts with visible fluster when he sees Rena’s transformed look. He impulsively asks her out, partly out of curiosity and partly out of attraction, and a night that starts with awkward small talk quickly turns surreal when the pair end up in front of a love hotel, forcing them to deal with the comedic and awkward consequences of an ordinary office flirtation gone off-script.
Released in 2021, the animated comedy was created by Eeyo Kurosaki and Rei Ishikura. The series leans on short-form setups and character-driven jokes, with voice work by Mahito Kawamura as Ryouhei Hachiya, Usa Fujisaki as Rie Sekiguchi, and Hibiki Nanashino as Buchou.
Critics and viewers gave the show mixed-to-positive responses, reflected in a user score around 6.3 out of 10 from a small sample of votes. Fans who liked it praised its frank, adult-oriented humor and the way it plays with looks versus personality, while others noted its reliance on risqué gags and awkward situations as a limiting factor.
Within niche anime communities the series prompted conversation about office romance tropes and the ethics of flirtation at work. Its scenes and punchlines showed up in late-night discussion threads and fan commentaries, where people debated how the show balances comedy with respect for boundaries, and whether its transformation gag is playful or uncomfortable.
The show didn’t earn major industry awards or high-profile nominations. It found most of its audience through streaming and word of mouth rather than through formal accolades, appealing especially to viewers who favor short, cheeky comedies that push a few social boundaries.
