Legacies takes place at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, a boarding school where witches, vampires, and werewolves learn to control dangerous abilities and the urges that come with them. The story centers on Hope Mikaelson, daughter of Klaus Mikaelson, who struggles to balance a famous family legacy with ordinary teenage problems. Alaric Saltzman runs the school, and his twins Lizzie and Josie are part of a shifting circle of classmates whose alliances, romances, and rivalries shape daily life.
