Vida and Mitch Hallquest set off for a quiet fishing day at a remote Texas cove, aiming to relax and reconnect. Their weekend calm dissolves when a group of online players testing a virtual hunting platform somehow causes a real, lethal shark to appear in the freshwater lake. What starts as casual angling turns into an escalating fight for survival, as the couple scrambles to keep each other alive while improvising with scant gear and limited mobility. Tension grows as they contend with the shark itself and the anonymous controllers who watch and influence events from a distance, forcing urgent choices about escape, rescue, and what they are willing to risk to survive, and their fragile trust.
