Look Away

Maria Brennan is a shy, isolated 17-year-old who goes through the motions of high school and family life with a quiet sense of invisibility. A chilling encounter with a mirror image changes everything when the two versions of Maria swap places, pulling her into a different life she did not choose. The swap drags her into a parallel existence where the other self seems to steer events and the real Maria watches with growing fear. As she struggles to maintain control at home with Dan and Amy Brennan and at school among wary peers, the line between self and reflection grows painfully blurred. The story follows her attempt to reclaim agency without losing herself to the reflection she dreads.
