When Su Yishui was a boy, his fate was tangled with Mu Qingge, a feared cultivator known as the "female demon" who vanished amid scandal. Almost two decades later that same figure returns in a weakened, altered form as Xue Ranran. Su Yishui has become the head of the West Mountain Sect, and when Ranran appears critically ill he accepts her as his disciple to keep her safe. That decision reverses old roles: the person who once led him now depends on his protection, and everyday duties, rivalries within the sect, and awkward tender moments follow. The show tracks how care, reputation, and responsibility reshape their relationship, with a mix of lighthearted scenes and serious moral choices.
