About Mashin Creator Wataru
Wataru Hoshibe is a fourth grader who runs a RyuTuber channel and wants to become a star. After building a blocky Mashin called Ryujinmaru to face the final boss Enjoda, Wataru is carried into Chubukai, a parallel world where those creations can fight for real. The series balances episodic battles with classroom moments, as Wataru learns what teamwork, responsibility, and creativity mean when online fame starts to collide with everyday life. Alongside Ryujinmaru he meets classmates and strange allies, and each episode mixes kid-friendly action, slapstick humor, and science fiction ideas without revealing how the larger conflict will end.
Mashin Creator Wataru premiered in 2025, created by Yoichi Kato and the Hajime Yatate collective. Voice talent includes Mutsumi Tamura as Wataru, Tomokazu Sugita as Ryujinmaru, Atsumi Tanezaki as Kakeru Amabe / Uzume, Katsuyuki Konishi as Offline / Online, and Megu Umezawa as Maro.
As of its 2025 release the series has not received major industry awards or high-profile nominations. It has attracted attention within fan circles for its toy-friendly concept and online buzz, but there are no widely reported accolades attached to the show at this time.
The Mashin-built aesthetic and the RyuTuber premise quickly inspired fan creations, with kids and hobbyists sharing block models and short clips online. The show sparked conversations about DIY creativity and how play interacts with online content, and some independent toy builders have referenced the series in their designs.
Audience response has been generally favorable so far, reflected in a small user score of 8.0/10 from four votes. Reviewers and viewers point to the series' energetic action, light comedy, and emphasis on friendship and responsibility, while recurring themes include imagination versus performance, the realities of internet attention, and the value of working with others.
