Choshichiro Nagayori Matsudaira is born into the Tokugawa family, yet he moves through Edo with a sense of reach and restraint that sets him apart. As the son of Tadanaga Tokugawa, his name carries whispers about a disputed lineage and a heavy burden others do not share. To avoid becoming a political pawn, he chooses to live among the common people, observing injustice in their neighborhoods and stepping in when wrongdoing shines a light on the vulnerable.
