Five young offenders are assigned to community service when a bizarre electrical storm gives each of them an unexpected power. At first they treat their abilities like party tricks, but those gifts quickly complicate everyday life, relationships, and petty schemes. The group includes Rudy Wade, a sardonic lone wolf with a messy personal life, Jess who keeps the crew grounded, Finn with fragile idealism, and others whose loyalties shift as consequences pile up. Humor and harshness sit side by side as the characters struggle to balance ordinary youth problems with the moral and practical fallout of having powers.
