About My Merry Marriage
My Merry Marriage centers on Maeng Gong-hee, a contract designer at Jayce Fashion who combines her mother's fierce determination with her retired detective father's athletic streak. She's the kind of woman who can handle a tough workday and keep her sense of humor, even when life gets messy. Across town Gu Dan-soo, grandson of Jayce Fashion chairman Hwang Ik Seon, returns from living abroad after his grandmother sets a plan in motion to shape him as the family's successor. Born into mixed fortunes, Dan-soo reconnects with a childhood friend he hasn't seen in years, and their renewed relationship becomes one thread among many as the series looks at divorce, remarriage, single life and what people mean when they say "happiness," all while keeping the tone light and relatable.
Released in 2024, the series was directed by Kim Sung-geun and created by Song Jung-rim, with Park Ha-na and Park Sang-nam leading the cast alongside Kim Sa-Kwon, Lee Yeon-doo and Yang Mi-kyung.
As of its 2024 release there are no major industry awards or high-profile nominations publicly recorded for the show, so its recognition has been more word-of-mouth and viewer-driven rather than awards-focused.
Although fairly new, the show has prompted conversations about modern marriage and family roles, especially among multigenerational viewers. Its everyday domestic scenes and humorous awkward moments have made it easy to watch together, and it’s begun to surface in social discussions about balancing personal freedom with family expectations.
Viewer response has been modest, with a 6.4/10 average from a small pool of votes. Audiences tend to praise the cast chemistry and the series' mix of comedy and drama, noting that its themes of resilience, class differences and evolving relationships feel honest and approachable without getting melodramatic.
