Eita Kidou starts high school laser-focused on getting into the National University School of Medicine, and after his parents' divorce he decides romance is a distraction he can't afford. His careful plan is upset when Masuzu Natsukawa, a glamorous returnee with a sharp edge, suddenly ropes him into a fake relationship for her own reasons. That arrangement draws the attention and anger of Chiwa Harusaki, his steadfast childhood friend, and soon other classmates get pulled into the mess. What begins as a practical bargain becomes a messy mix of jealousy, misunderstandings, and comedy as Eita tries to keep his goals intact while dealing with increasingly complicated feelings around him.
