Musashino, Tokyo, feels ordinary, yet a string of brutal attacks unsettles the city. An elementary schooler becomes known to the public as Lil Slugger, striking strangers and leaving no face behind. Victims recall only three things: golden inline skates, a baseball cap, and a bent golden bat as the weapon. Detectives Ikari and Maniwa set out to identify the elusive assailant and stop the spree, but each lead dissolves into rumors, fear, and personal troubles.
