Puzzle & Dragons X

Set on a world shared by humans, Dragonoids and Monsters, Puzzle & Dragons X follows young Dragon Callers who can perceive mysterious spherical "Drops" that emerge from the planet. These Drops strengthen Monsters and let Callers form bonds, so some people train to command them. Trouble starts when sudden surges called Drop Impacts flood areas with Drops, destabilizing the land and sending Monsters into frenzies. The series tracks a group of Callers as they respond to these events, learning the rules that govern Drops and trying to calm affected regions while balancing rivalries, alliances and the everyday life of a society shaped by this volatile power.

Created by Dai Sato, the anime premiered in 2016 and adapts the Puzzle & Dragons setting into a serialized TV format. The main cast includes Takuto Yoshinaga, Tetsuya Kakihara, Tomoko Kaneda, Sora Amamiya and Yuka Terasaki, who provide the principal voices for the core team.

Audience response was muted, with a low score recorded on some platforms, reflecting limited enthusiasm outside the franchise’s base. Reviews and viewer comments tended to point to uneven pacing and simplistic plot arcs, while some fans appreciated the show for expanding familiar game elements into a narrative context.
