About Sagrada Reset
Sagrada Reset takes place in Sakurada, a coastal town where nearly half the population has unusual abilities, from communicating with animals to rewinding time. The plot centers on Kei Asai, who can remember events even after they are undone, and Misora Haruki, who can reset the world by three days, erasing what might have happened and any memories people formed. Employed by their school's Houshi club, and answering requests from the municipal authority known as the Kanrikyoku, they tackle a wide range of assignments. Their teamwork lets them approach mysteries and social problems in ways others cannot, while the practical limits and moral consequences of resetting reality create ongoing tension.
Released in 2017, the TV anime adapts Yutaka Kono's original work with series composition by Katsuhiko Takayama, and it features voice performances by Kaito Ishikawa and Kana Hanazawa among the principal cast.
The series didn't win major international awards like Emmys or Golden Globes, and it wasn't a big awards-season presence, though it did attract notice within genre circles and among anime commentators for its unusual premise and faithful adaptation of the source material.
Viewer response is generally favorable, reflected in a 7.7/10 average from community votes. Critics and fans point to the show’s slow-building character interactions and its emphasis on ethical dilemmas, memory, and responsibility as central themes, while some reviews mention uneven pacing and a preference for idea-driven episodes over constant action.
The reset-and-remember mechanic became the show's hallmark, sparking discussion among viewers about causality and personal accountability. That core concept encouraged fan theories, essays, and creative works that kept interest alive after the broadcast, giving Sagrada Reset a steady niche presence in online anime communities.
