Sharpe follows Richard Sharpe, a practical British soldier who rises through the ranks during the Napoleonic Wars. The ITV series draws on Bernard Cornwell's novels, pairing personal loyalties with battlefield strategy and the politics of empire in brisk, action driven episodes. Filmed in Turkey, the Crimea, England, Spain and Portugal, it brings to life sieges and marches as Sharpe leads his men through peril. Debuting in 1993, it ran through the late 90s and spawned Sharpe's Challenge in 2006, a two part revival with heightened intensity.

Directed by Tom Clegg and produced for ITV by Celtic Films and Picture Palace Films, Sharpe stars Sean Bean as Richard Sharpe with Daragh O'Malley as Patrick Harper. The series was filmed across Turkey, the Crimea, England, Spain and Portugal.
