About Sniper: Assassin's End

Special Ops sniper Brandon Beckett wakes up branded the prime suspect after a foreign dignitary is killed just before signing a major trade agreement. He escapes a near-death situation and quickly realizes the setup looks like an inside job. With few people he can trust, Brandon turns to his father, legendary marksman Thomas Beckett, for help. The pair end up hunted by the CIA, Russian mercenaries, and a yakuza-trained assassin with sniper skills who goes by Lady Death. They move through urban streets and remote vantage points, trading long-range shots and tactical moves as they try to expose who arranged the frame without giving away their own hand.

Directed by Kaare Andrews and based on ideas by Crash Leyland, Oliver Thompson and Michael Frost Beckner, the film arrived in 2020. Chad Michael Collins returns as Brandon, joined by Sayaka Akimoto, Ryan Robbins, Lochlyn Munro and Emily Tennant.

It didn't receive major industry awards or nominations, which is typical for mid-tier action sequels. That said, it helped sustain the franchise's visibility on home video and streaming platforms, keeping the series active for its established audience.

As another entry in the long-running Sniper line, Assassin's End leans into established franchise beats: veteran shooters, moral complications around clandestine work, and tense sniper showdowns. While it hasn't spawned a broad cultural moment, fans note the father-son team up and the duel scenes as memorable within the series, and the film reinforces the practical, hardware-focused style the franchise favors.

Audience reaction has been mixed to mildly positive, reflected in a roughly 6.25 out of 10 user rating. Viewers often praise the action choreography and the chemistry between the Becketts, while criticizing the plot for relying on familiar genre conventions. Central themes include loyalty, betrayal, legacy, and the personal toll of a life spent at extreme range.
