Peter Parker is a smart, unassuming high school student with a quick wit. Living with his Aunt May in Queens, he juggles classes, a part time job, and a crush on Mary Jane Watson. A trip to Oscorp turns extraordinary when Peter is bitten by a genetically altered spider, granting him abilities that echo a spider’s agility, reflexes, and capacity to cling to walls. At first he experiments with his new gifts for personal gain, then finds a larger purpose as crime and corruption press in. As he wrestles with secrecy and responsibility, Peter starts to realize that keeping power in check may demand sacrifices he never anticipated. The path of a hero begins here, with hope and hard choices.

Directed by Sam Raimi, the 2002 Spider-Man adapts the iconic comic created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko with a screenplay by David Koepp.

Beyond its action packed debut, the film helped redefine how origin tales land on screen. It gave us the rain soaked upside down kiss and the line "With great power comes great responsibility" which became a touchstone for superhero cinema and fan culture alike.
