Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Valliere is a young, awkward mage at the Tristain Academy of Magic whose spells rarely work, earning her the humiliating nickname "Louise the Zero." During a high-stakes exam she accidentally summons Saito Hiraga, a regular teenager from Tokyo, and he becomes bound to her as a familiar.
