The Hot Spot

Harry Madox drifts into a sunburned town with a glib grin and a checkered past. The moment he crosses the county line, a bank robbery lands him under suspicion and the local cops close ranks. The rumor mill swirls as the stranger tries to talk his way out, while drawing closer to faces that spark both danger and desire. Dolly Harshaw, a woman with a stake in the town's fortunes, is drawn to his audacity, and Gloria Harper, a newer arrival tasting independence, sees something irresistible in him. The investigation grows personal, friendships crack, and loyalties falter as the chase tightens. Through it all the question remains who is pursuing whom and what lines are really being crossed.
