The Magnificent Seven

When wealthy industrialist Bartholomew Bogue decides he wants the gold under Rose Creek, the town's residents face eviction or worse. Emma Cullen, whose family and community are threatened, hires stoic bounty hunter Sam Chisolm to protect what’s left. Chisolm assembles an unlikely group of specialists—a charming gambler, a scarred tracker, a haunted sharpshooter, a ruthless knife expert and others drawn by pay, pride or purpose. They coach the townspeople, set traps and prepare for violence, and as the threat escalates the mercenaries’ reasons for staying shift. With blood on the horizon, alliances form and sacrifices loom as the seven organize a final defense to keep Rose Creek alive.

Released in 2016 and directed by Antoine Fuqua, this film is a modern remake of the 1960 Western. The screenplay credits include Nic Pizzolatto, William Roberts and Richard Wenk, and the production puts a contemporary spin on a classic ensemble story.
