Patrick Jane used to play a psychic on TV, selling mystery and spectacle. After a personal tragedy exposed the lies behind his act, he turns those same skills of observation and human insight toward real crime solving. Hired as a civilian consultant by law enforcement, he teases and prods suspects, reads tiny tells, and pieces together motives the way others follow evidence.
