The Mummy

In 1920s Egypt, the swaggering ex-legionnaire Rick O'Connell leads a ragged band to the sealed city of Hamunaptra after a skirmish uncovers its location. He crosses paths with Egyptologist Evelyn Carnahan, who is eager for discovery, and her comically inept brother Jonathan, and together they enter the tombs searching for artifacts. Their tomb raiding wakes up forces that have been sleeping for millennia. Centuries earlier the priest Imhotep suffered a cruel punishment for forbidden love, and a curse was placed to keep him and his dark magic buried. As the ancient power returns, the small team must scramble to stop a threat that could spread well beyond the desert. Personal stakes grow as friendships strain and a romance quietly simmers.
