The Waterboy

Bobby Boucher is a shy, sheltered man who spends his days supplying water to a hapless college football team while living under his overbearing mother's care. Plagued by crushes and ridicule, he finds that anger turns him into a tackling powerhouse when the coach gives him a spot on the squad. As Bobby moves from sideline duty to a defensive cornerstone, his confidence and personal life begin to change, especially after he connects with a team publicist who supports him. The film keeps its focus on Bobby's growth and the team's climb toward respect and playoff contention, mixing broad slapstick and sports comedy without giving away how everything concludes.
