Colorful trolls live in a jubilant village until a threat arrives from the outside world. Princess Poppy, endlessly optimistic and loud, is determined to prove happiness can endure any setback. Her opposite is Branch, a cautious, suspicious troll who hides his true feelings behind a tough exterior. When Bergens, grumpy outsiders who eat trolls to feel joy, invade Troll Village, Poppy realizes she must act. She enlists Branch to help rescue their friends who have been captured. The pair clash over style and ethics, yet their mismatched skills gradually complement each other. What follows is a fast paced, music fueled escapade filled with vivid creatures, bold humor, and bright set pieces as they pursue a risky plan that tests them.
