On a road that seems to bend with every dream, Ivan-Durak, known as the John the Fool, travels with his loyal horse Foal. Across a string of shifting magical worlds, the two friends dodge tricks and traps, swapping jokes for courage as they press onward. Their quest threads through a political maze ruled by a cruel king, a perilous chase after the legendary firebird, and a search for John's heart's true love. Along the way they meet curious allies and faces danger with wit rather than weapons. The film keeps the tone light while letting longing and friendship color the trip.
