About Venom

On the edge of Louisiana’s swamps a small group of teens finds themselves hunted by a single relentless figure known as Mr. Jangles. He is said to carry a dark history tied to thirteen evil souls, and his pursuit seems to feed on fear itself. With every corner of the marsh turning into a possible trap, the youths must improvise and keep moving hoping the murky water and thick mangroves will buy them a chance to escape. The chase tightens with each close call testing loyalty nerves and the will to survive. Amid the swamp’s oppressive silence trust becomes a scarce commodity and the line between hunter and hunted blurs in a claustrophobic nightmare.

Directed by Jim Gillespie Venom arrives in 2005 with a screenplay credited to Flint Dille John Zuur Platten and Brandon Boyce.

Reception was mixed with audiences giving it a modest 5.4 out of 10 from 362 votes. The film leans into swamp atmosphere and survival pressure exploring how fear shapes group dynamics and tests the limits of courage when confronted by an almost unstoppable pursuer.
