Virtues of Harmony II

The Sit family from Virtues of Harmony returns, but this time the setting is contemporary Hong Kong rather than ancient China. Matriarch Yau Nim Chi, played by Nancy Sit Ka-Yin, runs a bustling household where three generations clash over careers, romance and daily decisions. The show blends sitcom situations with family drama, following the adult children as they work, date and butt up against traditional expectations while the elders offer advice, interfere and provide comic relief. The supporting cast, including Frankie Lam, Michael Tse, Bonnie Chiu and Danny Lau Dan, adds workplace and romantic subplots that let episodes swing between broad slapstick and quieter domestic moments.

Produced by TVB and created by Yuk-On Tsui, Virtues of Harmony II premiered in 2003 as the modern sequel to the original period series. It retained much of the original ensemble while transplanting its family-centered comedy into present-day Hong Kong neighborhoods and offices.
