Juliane "Jule" Engelhardt mans the reception desk at Winter Cosmetics International, a job far from her original plan after leaving medical school. When the CEO's long-serving chief secretary, Annedore Zimmermann, collapses at work, Jule's quick thinking helps stabilize the situation. That act puts her in the orbit of the company leadership and opens the door to a new role as assistant secretary. Suddenly Jule moves from the safe anonymity of the front desk into the tight, petty world outside the CEO's office, where ambition, office politics and awkward encounters test her patience and sense of who she wants to be, while she tries to learn on the fly.
