Victor Maynard is a seasoned solo killer who keeps his life tight under the gaze of a formidable mother. His flawless reputation makes him a go-to professional, but his routine is upended when a target stirs something that passes for mercy. After he spares the woman he was hired to kill, a surprising consequence follows: a pair of would be allies attach themselves to him, certain he must be a private investigator. The unlikely trio moves through slick streets and slicker schemes as Victor tries to steer clear of danger while teaching his new companions on the fly.
