About Your Forma
After a 1992 encephalitis outbreak, society adopts an invasive implant called "Your Forma" that records every sight, sound and sensation a person experiences. Specially trained Cyber Investigators can access those recordings to reconstruct crimes from another person's perspective. Echika Hieda is a prodigy whose rare talent for reading and interpreting these sensory records has left her isolated. She's paired with Harold W. Lucraft, an Amicus humanoid designed to be a partner and foil. Together they take on cases that reveal hidden networks of power, memory manipulation and personal secrets, while the work forces them to question what ownership of memory should mean in a world where nothing truly disappears.
Created by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Mareho Kikuishi, the series premiered in 2025 and features voice performances from Kana Hanazawa, Kensho Ono, Nao Toyama, Aya Endo and Nobuhiko Okamoto.
No major awards or mainstream festival prizes have been reported for the series so far, and there aren't widely noted nominations at major ceremonies as of release.
Visually the show leans into 1990s cyberpunk aesthetics, with neon-drenched cityscapes and clinical UI design that recall genre predecessors. Its premise, an implant that archives subjective experience, nods to long-standing sci-fi concerns about surveillance and memory, making it feel like an intentional riff on classic themes while keeping a distinct anime style.
Critical and viewer response has been mixed, reflected in a vote average of 6.5/10 from 12 votes. Reviewers tend to praise the worldbuilding and the lead performances, while some note pacing issues and an occasionally opaque mystery structure. The series digs into identity, consent, and the ethics of recorded experience, asking whether perfect recall is a cure or another kind of control.
