About Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs
Fuyuzora Kogarashi can see ghosts and has spent his life learning to fend off spirits who haunt him. He’s poor and homeless, yet clings to a hope for a normal high school life. While hunting for a cheap place to live, he moves into Yuragi Manor, a former hot springs inn that promises a bargain and quiet days. The building is haunted by Yuuna, a girl who died there and remains as a friendly ghost in the house. Rather than scare her, Kogarashi offers to help her settle unfinished business so she can move on, which pulls the other tenants into a web of secrets that makes life at Yuragi anything but ordinary.
Released in 2018 as a television anime, the series is created by Hideaki Koyasu and adapts the Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san manga and light novels. The lead voice cast includes Yuki Ono as Kogarashi and Miyuri Shimabukuro as Yuuna, with the show distributed for streaming in multiple regions.
Fans gravitate to its playful mix of supernatural comedy and character chemistry. Yuragi Manor’s setting and the recurring gags around the bathhouse hauntings helped the show stand out within the late 2010s anime landscape, generating fan art, memes, and lively online discussions.
Reception ranges from broadly positive to mixed, with viewers praising the brisk pacing and likeable ensemble while noting the series leans on familiar harem and ghost comedy beats. Core themes include belonging, friendship, forgiveness, and finding a place to call home despite past pain.
According to available records, the series did not receive major awards or notable nominations. It has a dedicated fanbase that remembers its humor, warm relationships, and light fantasy premise even if industry recognition was limited.
