Nagomi Wahira arrives in Akihabara in spring 1999 with a simple dream, to work at a maid cafe and make people smile. She soon takes a post at Ton Tokoton, nicknamed the Pig Hut, and is assigned to the perpetually stern Ranko Mannen. What starts as training in tea service and stage routines quickly turns into daily tests of grit, as Nagomi learns the competitive hierarchy among maid cafes and the personal costs of climbing that ladder.
