After finishing a stretch in prison, Terry Dean uses his knack for gadgets and a habit of bending rules to stay ahead. He saves a little girl from a life changing accident, only to be struck by a car on the way to get help. While recovering in hospital, he experiences a vivid dream in which God declares him an Angel and instructs him to start doing good to make up for his past life. He doubts at first, then grows convinced the role is real. With no supernatural powers, he relies on his street smarts and experience to do small, meaningful deeds that spread through his world.
