About Dora and Friends: Into the City!
Into the City! follows Dora as she grows up and moves beyond the familiar trail into a bustling urban playground called Playa Verde. Now a student and part of a lively explorer crew, she teams with Emma, Kate, Naiya, Alana and their male companion Pablo to navigate a city filled with small missions, friendly rivals, and the occasional mystery. Together they uncover secrets hidden in everyday places from corner shops to parks and rooftops, while learning to work as kids do when they’re a team. Dora still wears a magical charm bracelet and carries a smart phone with an app version of the Map to guide their adventures. Each friend has a passion: Kate drama, Emma music, Alana animals, Naiya reading, and Pablo soccer.
Produced by Nickelodeon as a spin off of Dora the Explorer, the show expands Dora's world with a city based cast. It's from a series created by Eric Weiner, Valerie Walsh and Chris Gifford, with Fatima Ptacek voicing Dora.
Critics and audiences have responded warmly to the series focus on friendship and problem solving in a modern city. The ensemble includes Emma, Kate, Naiya, Alana and Pablo, expanding the range of voices and experiences available to viewers. It also emphasizes teamwork as kids navigate life.
Awards wise there are no major nominations to report for Dora and Friends. The series drew praise from fans for its upbeat energy and educational approach, celebrating teamwork and curiosity, but it did not rack up accolades during its run.
