About Glitter Force Doki Doki
Mana Aida is a warmhearted schoolgirl whose ordinary days flip when Sharuru, a fairy from the Trump Kingdom, arrives bearing tiny Cure Lovies. Using those accessories, Mana becomes Cure Heart, and soon her close friend Rikka, high-class childhood friend Alice, and the enigmatic idol Makoto gain their own powers to form a rescue team. They set out to purify people overtaken by the Jikochu, who have become selfish and forgotten love. The series mixes school life, friendship scenes and colorful battles, keeping stakes personal while balancing supernatural conflicts and humor throughout.
Released in 2013 and created by Ryota Yamaguchi, Glitter Force Doki Doki stars Hitomi Nabatame, Minako Kotobuki, Mai Fuchigami, Kanako Miyamoto and Rie Kugimiya in the lead voice roles, and it's part of the broader Pretty Cure franchise.
The series didn't gather major international awards, but it earned steady fan appreciation within the Pretty Cure community and among younger viewers, helping sustain interest in the franchise across subsequent seasons. It showed up in fan polls and local convention highlights, reflecting grassroots popularity more than formal industry recognition.
As an entry in the long-running Pretty Cure universe, the show reinforced magical girl visual motifs, inspired fan art and cosplay, and reached international audiences via localized titles, making its characters recognizable to a global slice of anime fans. Its costume designs and theme music remain popular among collectors.
On average viewers rate it 7.3/10 based on 23 votes, praising its upbeat tone, strong team dynamics and clear focus on themes of friendship and love. Critics note its kid-friendly action scenes and moments that appeal to family viewers, and many fans highlight the emotional bonds between the five heroines.
