About Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger

Set a thousand years after a brutal war with the Orgs, humanity has kept the peace with the dangers presumed ended. The ancient foe has returned, bringing new threats to Earth and testing the resolve of those who must stand against the darkness. Five youths are chosen by the Power Animals for their courage, quick wits, and teamwork. They become the Gaorangers, guardians who fuse human skill with the strength of their animal spirits. As they train and grow into their roles, they juggle ordinary life with the weight of a promise to protect the planet. Their colorful armor and ferocious beasts symbolize hope against an old evil revived.

Gaoranger debuted in 2001 as part of Toei's long running Super Sentai franchise. The series was created by Junki Takegami and features Noboru Kaneko, Kei Horie, Takeru Shibaki, Kazuyoshi Sakai and Miu Takeuchi leading a team of five protectors.

Gaoranger earns its place in the franchise by centering on Power Animals guiding five youths who become guardians. The animal powered suits and zords influenced later seasons and helped shape the look later seen in Power Rangers Wild Force.

Reviews point to Gaorangers mix of action and teamwork as its core appeal. The show emphasizes responsibility, friendship, and courage in the face of renewed danger, a tone reflected in its 7.3 out of 10 average from 20 votes.
