Kikuru Madan used to be a top hunter, but he walks away from the life after deciding it's eating up the youth he wanted to enjoy. Life after retirement is quiet until a guild clerk nudges him back into work, pairing him with Hitamu Kyan, an energetic but accident-prone martial artist. Their team grows as other oddball companions join, and what starts as a simple escort job turns into a string of mishaps where Hitamu keeps getting clobbered by monsters, much to Kikuru's exasperation. The show keeps the tone light, trading big fights for slapstick, mismatched personalities, and repeated comic setbacks without revealing any major plot twists.

Created by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Taichi Kawazoe, the anime premiered in 2022. The series is an original television production, driven by a voice cast that includes Katsumi Fukuhara as Kikuru and Karin Isobe as Hitamu, giving the characters a lively, exaggerated energy.
