Interstellar

Interstellar follows Cooper, a former pilot turned farmer who signs up for a desperate space mission after Earth starts failing. A wormhole appears near Saturn, offering access to faraway worlds, and Cooper leaves his family to help a small team scout planets that might sustain humanity. As they travel, extreme distances, time anomalies and dwindling resources complicate scientific judgments and personal loyalties. The story keeps human relationships at its heart, especially the strain between duty to the many and responsibility to loved ones, while showing the risks and wonder of attempting deep interstellar travel.

Directed by Christopher Nolan and co-written with his brother Jonathan Nolan, Interstellar premiered in 2014. Hans Zimmer scored the film, and physicist Kip Thorne served as a scientific consultant, helping the filmmakers portray black holes and relativity realistically.
